Conference Centers

The Baltimore Convention Center houses Maryland’s largest ballroom and with 50 meeting rooms, it’s the mid-Atlantic’s premier location for hosting conventions and conferences.

Hotels & Other Accommodations

When it comes to offering the best accommodations to your delegates, Baltimore is serious about growth. Thanks to an aggressive strategy to provide additional hotel rooms, Baltimore currently boasts approximately 6,600 hotel rooms in the downtown area, most of which are within walking distance to the modern Baltimore Convention Center and all major downtown attractions.

In addition, several new major hotels are slated to open within the next few years, allowing Baltimore to compete for up to 85% of all convention business.

Hilton Baltimore Open for Business
The Hilton Baltimore Convention Center hotel is officially open for business. Situated on a five-acre site, offering 757 rooms and an exclusive view of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the Hilton is connected to the Convention Center via enclosed, climate controlled pedestrian walkways. The hotel provides meeting planners and guests the convenience of a true convention headquarters hotel with 62,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including a 25,000-square-foot grand ballroom, the city's largest; a 15,000-square-foot junior ballroom; and a dedicated room block agreement through BACVA. Additional amenities include wired/wireless high-speed Internet access in all guestrooms, upscale food and beverage outlets, a Fitness by Precor USA center, a 24-hour business center, retail space, and on-site parking.

Hotel Development

If you haven't been to Baltimore lately, you don't know what you are missing. With 2,400 hotel rooms recently opened or under construction — totaling nearly $400 million in renovations and new hotel development — Baltimore has never been a more appealing meetings destination.

Now Open


Hilton Garden Inn is one of two co-joined hotels sharing one lobby and other guest amenities including parking facilities, a fitness center and nearly 2,100 square feet of meeting space. Offering 183 rooms, the Hilton Garden Inn is one of the newest properties to open in the up-and-coming Harbor East neighborhood. Guests are within steps of some of the city's finer dining restaurants, a new art house theater and boutique shopping.

Homewood Suites, the other co-joined Hilton hotel, is ideal for long- and short-term stays alike. The hotel is located in the heart of Baltimore's picturesque Harbor East community, within easy walking distance to the Orioles Park at Camden Yards, Ravens Stadium, the National Aquarium, Fell's Point, and the countless shops and restaurants of the Inner Harbor. For easy dining options, satisfy your appetite with a choice of over 15 restaurants within a two-block radius of the hotel!

Marriott Spring Hill Suites is a historic building located in downtown Baltimore, offering 11 floors and 99 suites. The hotel features free high-speed Internet access, two meeting rooms totaling 950 square feet of space and complimentary continental Suite Seasons Breakfast® buffet.

Rennovations

Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel is undergoing an $18 million renovation that includes updates to both guestrooms and ballroom space. Upgrades will include flat-screen televisions, wireless Internet, and MP3 jacks that allow guests to play music from their own MP3 players through the radio or television.

Renaissance Harborplace Hotel is undergoing $15 million in renovations to update the property and create a more contemporary look for its lobby and restaurant. Specific upgrades include flat-screen televisions and a décor revamp resulting in a lounge with a coffee and cocktail bar, featuring high-back chairs, modern art and three fireplaces.

Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel (formerly the Wyndham) has put $30 million into new renovations touching practically every space within the property, including all guestrooms; meeting and ballroom spaces; and all public areas, particularly the lobby, hallways and fitness center. As part of the extensive renovation project, the hotel's lobby has been redesigned to feature marble flooring and comfortable contemporary furniture, including leather sofas and intimate seating areas. Renovations to the North Tower of the hotel have already been completed; and remaining renovations will give the hotel an inviting ambiance, modern amenities, and freshly decorated guestrooms and public areas.

Hyatt Regency Baltimore has completed a $20 million renovation to its 600 guestrooms. The makeover features guestrooms with a sophisticated new look, 24/7 services and high-tech amenities. The Hyatt Regency Baltimore also most recently completed a $1.2 million refurbishment of its Grand Ballroom, created to match the contemporary look of the hotel's newly renovated guestrooms. Other improvements include a fully renovated outdoor pool (seasonal) and health center. Hyatt Regency Baltimore offers 29,000 square feet of function space and a 14,161-square-foot ballroom. The hotel is also connected to the Baltimore Convention Center, providing convenience and additional meeting space.

Under Development

Fairfield Inn & Suites will soon become Baltimore's first "green" hotel. The planned 154-room hotel will open on the former site of the DeGroen's Baltimore Brewing Company in historic Jonestown, just a few blocks from the Inner Harbor. It will mark the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified hotel in the city and one of several green Marriott hotels planned companywide over the next five years.


Element by Starwood will soon unveil two new Element Hotels in Baltimore, featuring a smart design philosophy that includes modern amenities and eco-friendly touches. The Westin Hotels & Resorts—inspired line of hotels aims to redefine the extended-stay market in the region with its first Baltimore area hotel opening in 2009 near the Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, where it will be part of a three-hotel complex that includes the Hilton Hotel BWI and an Aloft hotel that is under construction. The second Element location in Baltimore is planned for Harbor Point, a development project adjacent to Fell's Point in downtown Baltimore. An opening date has not yet been set for that location.


Hotel Monaco is planned as part of a $60 million project by ARC Wheeler in the historic B&O Building at Charles and Baltimore Streets. This mixed-use project will feature the 208-room Hotel Monaco on the top seven floors of the building. The hotel will be managed by the Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group and is scheduled to open in March 2009.


Hyatt Place Hotel is planned for 120 E. Lombard Street, just one block from the Inner Harbor. The hotel will feature spacious guestrooms with a 42-inch flat-panel high-definition television, the signature Hyatt Grand Bed™, a plush Cozy Corner oversized sofa sleeper that is separated from the sleeping area, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi Internet access throughout the hotel. The downtown location will follow the opening of a Hyatt Place near the BWI Airport. The 173-room hotel will be located next to the Brookshire Suites Hotel, a Harbor Magic property. An opening date has not yet been set for this location.
