Casual for a Cause

Visit Baltimore’s citywide campaign for Tourism Week - May 1-7, 2016

National Tourism Week is an annual salute to the power of tourism – a $9.4 Billion industry for Baltimore that employs 82,000 of our friends, family and neighbors. That’s 7.4% of all Baltimore-area employment.  Check out Visit Baltimore's Annual Report to learn more about how tourism drives Baltimore’s economy and quality of life.

Casual for a Cause is Visit Baltimore’s citywide campaign for Tourism Week. Our goal is to raise awareness and funds – starting a dialogue with a cross-section of Baltimoreans about why our City’s tourism industry is important while supporting a good cause in the process.

Here's how it works:

  1. Individuals and organizations have made donations to dress casual* during Tourism Week. *Employers set their own definition of ‘casual wear’ for one or multiple days of Tourism Week.
  2. Visit Baltimore provides the buttons, signage and tools to explain why our community is getting Casual for a Cause.
  3. All proceeds benefit the job and scholarship programs of the Visit Baltimore Education & Training Foundation.
