Baltimore Symphony Orchestra
Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall
Friday, October 14, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra presents an open rehearsal as part of Free Fall Baltimore on Friday, October 14, 2016. Registration closes on Friday, October 7. Two revolutionary composers, both as musicians and as humanists, are explored by Vasily Petrenko, who made a strong impression on his last BSO visit. Written after the death of Stalin, Shostakovich’s pulsing and militaristic 10th Symphony is often called an “optimistic tragedy.” Beethoven complements the work with his tumultuous, war-like Coriolan Overture and the Third Piano Concerto, performed by emerging Israeli-born New Yorker Inon Barnatan, hailed as “superb” by The New York Times, and here making his BSO debut. Doors open at 9:15 am. Rehearsal runs from 10 am to approximately 12:30 pm. Please note: Admission after the 10 am start will be at the discretion of the BSO staff. Reservations are taken ONLY through the BSO website and closes on OCTOBER 7, 2016. Children under six will not be admitted. Tickets are not issued. You will receive an email confirmation after submitting the form. (Please call the Symphony for tickets - 410.783.8000). Seating is unreserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
