Getting Around
Q: Is it possible to park at the Visitors Center for the day and take the circulator buses to various attractions? Or should we park in a designated lot to do so? For example, on our first day in Baltimore, we were planning to visit the Basilica and try to make the 9:00 tour. In order to do so, we would have to board the circulator before the visitors center even opens. Later that day we are tentatively planning to take the water taxi to Ft. McHenry, and then head to Fell's Point and the Broadway Market. Is doing all that in one day feasible?
A: Another alternative would be to park in Mt. Vernon (near the Basilica) since that will be your first stop for the day. There is a parking garage - 15 W. Franklin St. and many others in the area.
You can enjoy your tour of the recently rennovated Basicilia and then hop on our free Charm City Circulator (#307 at the Washington Monument - N. Charles & E. Mt. Vernon Place would probably be the closest) and you're on your way to the inner harbor and the water taxis!

| Enjoy your stay but I agree that it might not be possible to do everything in one day. Perhaps you'll want to check into accommodations for an overnight stay. There is so much to see and do that having the extra will allow you ample time to to everything o your bucket list while you are in town instead of picking and choosing what can fit into a one day stay!!! Enjoy your visit! Joan |
A: Parking is not available at the Visitors Center, but you can park at any number of garages near the Circulator routes. For an interactive map of parking garages managed by the City of Baltimore, click here.
It is feasible to do everything you mentioned in one day. However, you might want to skip the Broadway Market in favor of spending some time shopping and dining elsewhere in Fell's Point. The Broadway Market has limited tenancy right now as it awaits an extensive planned renovation, but you will undoubtedly enjoy some of the shops and restaurants along Thames St in the historic seaport.
