Welcome to baltimore.org's Q & A section! We've enlisted an army of experts – the Baltimore Buzz Brigade – who are always available to point you in the right direction. In addition to asking your own questions (B1), you can check out other people's questions (B2), and meet the people who are happy to share their love of Baltimore with everyone (B3). So little time...
Q: We will only be in Baltimore for three days and want to know what the must see things are that we can squeeze into these days.
A: Wow, there is so much to do in Baltimore that it's hard to narrow it down without knowing what time of year you'll be here and what types of things interest you.
If you like history, a visit to Ft McHenry is a must. This is where the Star Spangled Banner was written during the Battle of Baltimore in 1814. Also, there are some terrific walking tours that depart from the Baltimore Visitor Center, located at 401 Light Street at the Inner Harbor.
If you have kids, then you'll want to go to Port Discovery Children's Museum, the Maryland Science Center, and/or The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. The National Aquarium is a must, kids or not.
If you are into the arts, Baltimore has a thriving visual and performing arts scene. Consider a museum day to American Visionary Art Museum, the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Walters Art Gallery. Catch a show at the Hippodrome Theatre, a beautiful historic space that hosts national touring productions, or consider a regional or local theatre such as CenterStage or Everyman.
If you like touring neighborhoods and getting a sense of how the locals live, then you'll want to visit Fell's Point, Federal Hill and Mt Vernon.
Enjoy your stay, and come back when you have more time to spend with us!
