Sales Development Coordinator
Description:
Visit Baltimore is seeking a Sales Development Coordinator. As a member of the Sales team, the Coordinator assists in the generation of new convention and meeting business opportunities. Works individually to cultivate new business lead opportunities, and with the sales team to optimize this business. Responsible and accountable for meeting and/or exceeding sales lead room night goals and objectives as defined in the sales & marketing plan on an annual basis. Initiates and maintains relationships with counterpart sales staff at Visit Baltimore. Keeps updated on city information, which will enhance and educate potential client’s decision to book their business in Baltimore. Manages accounts within a designated geographical territory as assigned by the Director of Sales. May represent Visit Baltimore at select industry trade shows and/or sales events, and serves as a liaison with the local convention market community.
Qualifications Requirement:
- Qualified candidate must have 2-5 years experience in the hospitality industry. Hotel or CVB experience preferred; or a college degree and/or equivalent years experience in sales.
- Must have experience managing new business developments through the generation of lead opportunities.
- Must have experience with understanding the needs of the hotel community to identify/qualify a valuable piece of business for the City and our hotel partners.
- Must have solid understanding of computers and be familiar with Microsoft Office products.
- Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Requires attention to detail and excellent organizational skills that include being able to multitask.

Volunteer Opportunities at the Baltimore Visitor Center
Visit Baltimore is seeking volunteers for the Baltimore Visitor Center located at the beautiful Inner Harbor! Volunteers promote Visit Baltimore members and the city of Baltimore to leisure travelers, conventioneers and groups, as well as area residents. Volunteers are the front-line ambassadors, and are often the first person that a visitor meets when coming to Baltimore. Volunteers promote the sale of tickets to area attractions, and work with paid staff to complete the sale. Volunteers use printed and computer and internet information in their role at the Visitor Center.

Program Requirements:
- This position is open to all individuals who wish to assist in promoting Baltimore as a tourist destination. Volunteers who speak foreign languages would also be helpful.
- Volunteers are asked to commit to work at least 1 four-hour shift per week in the Visitor’s Center during peak season from April through September, or work at least 100 hours during the calendar year. Shifts typically begin at 8:45am, 10:45am and 1:45pm.
- Our greatest need is on weekends!!
