12 Days of Science begins December 22 and features a different theme every day through January 2. Drop in workshops, live demonstrations, and hands-on building will be happening throughout the Science Center while at home activities take over our website and social media. Our annual Midnight Noon celebration will take place on New Year’s Eve as Grammy nominated band Milkshake celebrates the New Year with us. Does the ball drop after your bedtime? Not this year! Ring in the New Year at the Maryland Science Center! Join us for our 9th annual New Year’s Eve celebration, Midnight Noon, where children can enjoy the ball drop before bed time. There will be fun New Year’s festivities throughout the day, including a live concert by popular kids band Milkshake. Their Grammy-nominated tunes will keep you dancing throughout the day. The entire Science Center will be open and ready for you to explore. All activities are FREE with paid admission, and free to members. Cookie cutters have been adding fun shapes to everyone’s favorite baked goods for millennia. But, have you ever hunted for a specific cookie cutter shape and just couldn’t find it? Learn how to make cutters of your own design in our Cookie Cutter workshop! Maryland Science Center staff will teach you how to bend metal to create food safe cookie cutters. Each participant will take home their own shaped cutter. Cost is $15 per person. There is no member discount for our workshop programs. All supplies and museum admission are included. The workshop is designed for ages 10 and up, anyone under 16 must participate with an adult. Advance registration and payment required.
