The Farm Alliance of Baltimore will enhance Lexington Market’s produce offerings when it launches a pop-up stall in the historic Market directly off Eutaw Street at the Arcade entrance this month. The Farm Alliance of Baltimore Pop Up began Wednesday, November 9, 2016 and runs every Wednesday through January 25, 2017. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Farm Alliance, a vibrant collective comprised of 12 Baltimore City-based farms, will feature locally grown produce such as Radishes, Collards and Mustard Greens, as well as made to order salads. The network of local producers aims to increase the viability of urban farming and improve access to urban grown foods. More information including a list of farms is available at http:// www.farmalliancebaltimore.org and at https://www.facebook.com/farmalliance/. In addition, on the second Wednesday of every month, the Farm Alliance will host a guest vegan chef which will feature locally grown products. The one-day chefs will showcase a wide variety of vegan dishes ideal for a sit-down or carryout lunch. “We are very excited for the potential to bring locally grown produce to people at a very affordable cost,” says Farm Alliance Baltimore Market Manager Sache Jones. “We are anticipating a great partnership with Lexington Market and with up and coming chefs and down-home cooks who want to use local produce.” According to Lexington Market Communications and Marketing Manager Stacey Pack, the Farm Alliance of Baltimore Pop Up is part of a continuing series designed to allow the Market to diversify its offerings with unique and delicious items that are not currently available. “We are thrilled to be partnering with the Farm Alliance to get local farms back into the Market and give the public access to fresh and locally sourced products, not to mention some delicious and healthy prepared food options!” ABOUT LEXINGTON MARKET In existence for 230 years, Lexington Market is the world's largest, continuously operating market.
