Marin Alsop explores musical painting through two works?a brand new BSO Co-commission, combining the jazz artistry of Dave Brubeck and his composer son Chris with the stunning nature photography of Ansel Adams, plus Mussorgsky?s Pictures at an Exhibition. How do pictures and music work together? How does the color of sound imitate visual variation? How does the brain combine the two?
