Register for fall classes at Baltimore Clayworks Mt. Washington. Clayworks is one of several institutions regionally that offers educational programs in ceramics. What makes Clayworks different? It strives to provide the best value through excellence in instruction, classroom accessibility, artist accessibility, variety of programs, attention to the individual and by maintaining an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere. The teaching of ceramic sculpture and pottery by working artists who are seriously engaged in producing their own artwork, is central to the excellence of instruction offered in our studios. Education at Clayworks also takes place informally in open studio time, in artistic dialogue among artists and students, in the inclusion of interns, and in access to the works of both resident and nationally known artists in the gallery. Hands-on class offerings, short workshops, slide lectures and gallery talks enrich the formal educational program. With the recent completion of the new building, there is not only a third classroom, but also ADA compliance that allows us to offer a full range of courses throughout the facility.
