Make plans to join us at Star-Spangled Symphony on June 17, 2012 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The 90-minute musical celebration includes the world premiere of Overture for 2012, composed by Philip Glass and performed by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under the direction of music director Marin Alsop.

Sponsored by PNC, tickets are on sale for only $15.

Star-Spangled Symphony highlights Star-Spangled Sailabration - the June 13-19 international maritime festival in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, which launches Maryland's War of 1812 bicentennial commemoration.

I can't think of a better way to celebrate a brand-new, world premiere piece of music than by having the Blue Angels roaring overhead, over 40 tall ships and naval vessels and a great symphony orchestra performing the premiere.

- Marin Alsop, BSO Music Director
