“If Music Be the Food...” Concert Series presents their inaugural benefit concert in Baltimore featuring both prominent faculty and current outstanding students of the of the Peabody Conservatory. The mission of the series is to raise awareness and support for the hungry in the Baltimore community. Professors Phillip Kolker (bassoon) and Sandra Lisicky (oboe) will join Artistic Director Lior Willinger (piano) to open the concert at 8pm with a trio by Poulenc. Trio Phoenix (Peabody Honors Ensemble), Yong Hi Moon (piano), Alexander Shtarkman (piano), and rising star students are among the artists featured to perform a various trios by Dvorak, De Mey, and Beethoven. No tickets are sold for the concerts, rather, the audience members are invited to bring non-perishable food items or donations for the Maryland Food Bank as the price of admission.
