February 07, 2016 - May 08, 2016

The BMA’s growing collection of works by Maryland-based artists is celebrated in this exhibition of approximately 20 recently acquired paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, and books. Primarily made by artists who have lived and worked in Maryland in the 20th and 21st centuries, many have ties to Baltimore. Artists such as Keith M. Martin, Gary Kachadourian, and John Waters have lived and worked in the city and some like Francesca Daniela and Raoul Middleman and have studied or taught at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Baltimore has also served as a source of inspiration for artists like Eleanor Cahn and Gabrielle De Vaux Clements who made the city and/or its inhabitants as their subject matter.
