The Maryland Science Center’s popular science of adult beverages series returns with a focus on cider in July with Baltimore cider experts from Millstone Cellars. The evening will feature an exploration into the science behind traditional methods of fermenting cider. The presentation will be delivered by Curt Sherrer, co-founder and cidermaker at Millstone Cellars, Monkton, Maryland. Prior to opening the doors of Millstone Cellars, Curt was a fermentation scientist and U.S. patent examiner reviewing alcoholic beverage patent applications. Explore the centuries-old barrel fermenting process and the use of locally available ingredients to make a rustic cider. Plus drink a variety of Millstone’s classics.
