VERIZON WIRELESS AND BALTIMORE RAVENS TEAM UP FOR CELLPHONE RECYCLING DRIVE Fans Encouraged to Donate Old Wireless Phones and Accessories to HopeLine® from Verizon at the August 27 Ravens Preseason Game Against the Detroit Lions WHAT Baltimore Ravens fans are invited to clean out their drawers and recycle their no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories. Company volunteers will be at the Verizon tent on RavensWalk collecting used phones before kick-off at the Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens preseason game. Through HopeLine®, no-longer-used wireless phones, batteries and accessories are recycled, or refurbished. Any unsalvageable phones are disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. Verizon Wireless can then award cash grants and donate wireless phones with prepaid airtime to non-profit advocacy agencies and law enforcement agencies to aid survivors of domestic violence right in Maryland and across the country. WHEN August 27, 2016 | RavensWalk opens at 4 p.m. (kick off at 7 p.m.) WHERE Verizon Tent on RavensWalk at M&T Bank Stadium Fans can also donate cellphones and accessories at all area Verizon stores WHY For more than a decade, Verizon Wireless has been committed to raising awareness of domestic violence and working to prevent it. Since its national launch in 2001 the HopeLine® phone recycling and re-use program has collected more than 12 million phones. The phones collected were recycled in an environmentally friendly way, with the proceeds benefiting domestic violence victims. In 2015 HopeLine® awarded $7 millions in cash grants to non-profit organizations and agencies.
