DINING AT A DISCOUNT: BALTIMORE WINTER RESTAURANT WEEK
ANNOUNCED FOR JANUARY 23 - FEBRUARY 1, 2009
More Than 100 Restaurants Will Treat Diners to Affordable Luxury
(Baltimore, MD)- The economy got you down? Then, mark your calendar for Baltimore's Winter Restaurant Week, which runs from Friday, January 23, through Sunday, February 1, 2009.
For the second year in a row, the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association (BACVA) and Downtown Partnership of Baltimore are organizing Baltimore Winter Restaurant Week as a complement to their Summer Restaurant Week promotion. This year, the promotion has been extended to include two weekends instead of just one, providing additional opportunities for locals and visitors to experience Baltimore's best restaurants.
Baltimore Winter Restaurant Week will feature more than 100 of the region's top restaurants offering deep discounts on three-course meals. Participating establishments will offer special three-course dinner prix fixe menus for $30.09 (liquor, tax and gratuity not included). Many will also offer three-course lunch prix fixe menus for $20.09 per person (liquor, tax and gratuity not included). Select restaurants are also offering additional value-added opportunities including chef's dinner, wine flights and wine pairings to accompany the prix fixe meals.
Baltimore's Winter Restaurant Week is the perfect tonic for diners who have been pinching pennies but long for a gourmet meal out during these tough economic times. It is also a great way for participating restaurants to attract extra business during a typically slower time of year.
"The economy is as gloomy as a grey winter day, but what better way to brighten things up than with an indulgent yet inexpensive night out on the town?" said Downtown Partnership President Kirby Fowler.
"Every year we look for new opportunities to provide value to our visitors," said Tom Noonan, BACVA president and CEO. "Winter Restaurant Week allows our guests to dive into Baltimore's culinary scene and realize the value that Restaurant Week provides to consumers."
A complete list of participating restaurants for Baltimore's Winter Restaurant Week is available online at www.BaltimoreRestaurantWeek.com. The site will include menus for most of the participating restaurants, information on parking and a map of restaurant locations. Consumers are urged to book their reservations early before the restaurants are booked.
The Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association (BACVA) is the official sales and marketing organization for Baltimore that generates economic benefits for stakeholders through the attraction of convention, group and leisure visitors. For more information, please visit www.baltimore.org.
