Baseball Legend Discusses Crabbing, Cannoli and His Baltimore Favorites on Video-Based Web Site

BALTIMORE - April , 2008 - Baseball fans nationwide who miss watching hall of famer Cal Ripken take the field need not worry. Cal is back this season with a dedicated video on VisitMyBaltimore.com where the former Oriole pays homage to Baltimore and shares what he loves best about the city. While Ripken is the latest celebrity to post his top reasons to visit Baltimore, the Web site showcases the experiences, knowledge and favorites of both hometown heroes and local residents through personalized videos that can be created and upload to the site.

Proud to call Baltimore his home, Cal invites fans from around the country to visit Baltimore and try out some of his favorites for themselves like authentic Italian meals in Little Italy or casual walks through the Inner Harbor to get a real sense of what the city is all about. A true native, Cal mentions that one of his favorite things to do with out of town guests is to teach them how to crack steamed crabs the Baltimore way.

Other Baltimore celebrities who share what they love best about the city include David Simon, creator of the HBO hit series "The Wire" who discusses his deep-rooted Baltimore pride and pro skateboarder Bucky Lasek who weaves his passion for skateboarding into his video.

The Visit My Baltimore campaign allows more people to virtually "visit" Baltimore and gain insider tips from local Baltimore ambassadors on a variety of world-class attractions and unknown treasures. Along with the celebrity ambassadors, the site boasts more than 343 videos from local Baltimoreans that have been viewed approximately over 127,000 times and documents everything from the arts and culture scene to the inside scoop on local Baltimore events.
