BACVA and OLD BAY® Seasoning Announce Strategic Partnership
BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association (BACVA) today announced a new partnership with OLD BAY, the Flavor of Baltimore. The marketing program is one of the first in a series of strategic partnerships BACVA hopes to develop in an effort to grow its marketing budget.
BACVA will leverage the OLD BAY name and products in marketing messages, in outreach to convention customers at sales events and tradeshows, with travel and food writers through the culinary public relations efforts, and to leisure visitors via the Baltimore Visitor Center with potential giveaways and promotions.
"Growing BACVA's budget has been a top priority of mine and one of the best ways to do that is through strategic partnerships," said Tom Noonan, president and CEO of BACVA. "OLD BAY is the perfect partner because it represents what Baltimore is famous for its Chesapeake Bay cuisine."
"OLD BAY, the Flavor of Baltimore, is proud to be a partner of BACVA," said Todd Poling, Product Manager, OLD BAY. "With OLD BAY's unique flavor and heritage, working with BACVA to share this city's icon with visitors is a natural fit."
BACVA is working to develop other strategic partnerships to
help promote and market Baltimore to potential leisure and business
travelers. "Baltimore is competing against cities with much larger
marketing budgets," adds Noonan. "These partnerships and cooperative
marketing programs with our tourism partners will help us level the
playing field."

For
more than 60 years, OLD BAY seasoning has been the secret ingredient
for cooks from coast to coast. This blend of a dozen herbs and spices
-- including bay leaf, red pepper, celery salt, mustard, and ginger—has
developed a loyal following. OLD BAY's bright yellow and blue tin has
become an icon, and its distinctive flavor is the ultimate seasoning
for seafood and more. For more information and recipes, visit www.oldbay.com, or call 1-800-MEAL-TIP (1-800-632-5847).
