KIMBERLY ALLISON JOINS THE BALTIMORE AREA CONVENTION AND VISITORS ASSOCIATION AS REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF SALES

(BALTIMORE) - The Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association (BACVA) recently hired Kimberly Allison as the organization's new regional director of sales, a newly created sales position covering the Washington, D.C., convention market.

Ms. Allison is both a certified association sales executive (CASE) and a certified association executive (CAE) who brings more than 15 years of convention sales and planning experience to her new role. As regional director of sales, she will oversee all customer strategy development, sales initiatives and account management for the Washington, D.C., region, applying a greater focus to convention groups with more than 2,000 room nights on peak.

"We're very pleased to have Kim join our sales team and feel her experience and knowledge of the D.C. market will add to the strength of our convention sales efforts," said Thomas Noonan BACVA president and CEO. Noonan created this new position to increase both short- and long-term convention business for the city by adding a third BACVA sales representative in the association-rich Washington, D.C., market.

Before joining BACVA, Ms. Allison was most recently a national sales manager for the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association where she managed the Washington, D.C., office for three years. While working for the Indianapolis bureau, she focused her sales strategies on groups with 2,000 peak room nights and greater.

Prior to being named national sales manager, she worked as a membership and development manager for the Indianapolis bureau. She was also a director of educational services and special projects coordinator for the Indiana Health Care Association.

Ms. Allison is a graduate of Purdue University and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, Professional Convention Management Association, Association of Meeting Professionals, Meeting Professionals International and CVBREPS.com.
