Pursuing a certification or other professional development? The Visit Baltimore Education and Training Foundation wants to fund your continuing education and empower our tourism community.
Professional development scholarships up to $1,500 each are available to support additional certification, product knowledge and professional training. Individuals seeking a career or currently working within Baltimore's meetings and tourism industry are eligible to apply. Example courses and programs include (but are not limited to):
- American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) Professional Certification Programs
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certificate in Meeting Management (CMM)
- National Restaurant Association Professional Certification Programs (ManageFirst, ServSafe)
- Other relevant continuing education courses in business, culinary, hospitality, tourism or non-profit management pending sufficient clarification in the application form
Scholarships are also available for local employees of Baltimore city's cultural and/or heritage tourism community to attend educational conferences as long as they will benefit from the professional development opportunity and through participation will help strengthen the capacity of local organizations to attract and serve visitors. Additional restrictions may apply.
