The Maryland Science Center holds Halloween events each year for both kids and adults. During the day, discover Spooky Science by making slime, carving pumpkins and more. After hours, the adults rise from the dead for a costume ball featuring craft beer and music.

The Maryland Zoo ZooBooo!

Don your costumes and go trick-or-treating at the Maryland Zoo. While the kids collect their candy, the animals get a special Halloween treat as well. There are also games, costume contests, live entertainment, and kid-friendly food.

What’s spookier than Edgar Allan Poe: the original master of macabre and the man who died under mysterious circumstances in this very city? Get in the Halloween spirit by visiting Poe’s grave at Westminster Hall and burying grounds, where you’ll also find some other notable names, such as Poe’s wife Virginia and many heroes from the War of 1812. The Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Festival

On the Saturday before Halloween, celebrate with a festival during the day in Patterson Park and a lantern parade at night. The festival has food trucks, a beer garden, hay rides and live music, and you can make your own lantern for the parade that night, which is full of crazy costumes and elaborate light creations.
