Open Walls Art Murals

Not All Art Galleries Are Enclosed by Walls

Street art has been around for centuries; however Baltimore has taken it to the next level by creating a vast street art project called Open Walls. This mural project has revitalized the Station North Arts and Entertainment District with an outdoor gallery of paintings that can be enjoyed by any art lover.

World-Class Street Art

Just steps from Penn Station, Station North was already a popular arts district, as home to many local artists and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Now, thanks to Open Walls Baltimore, visitors can enjoy this eclectic neighborhood by wandering through its one-of-a-kind streets, now home to some of the world’s best examples of street art.

More Than Just a Mural Project

In addition to beautifying the neighborhood, Open Walls Baltimore also opened up a forum for discussion about public art, featuring multiple events and community gatherings that have brought residents of the area together.

Open Walls Baltimore 2

A sequel to this international street art festival – Open Walls 2 – will be unveiled in June 2014. Curated by Open Walls artist Gaia, and featuring 15 renowned contributing artists plus performance installations and neighborhood parties, you won’t want to miss out on this hip arts district.
