Summer

Summer is tourist season in Baltimore, and the city’s events calendar is off the charts. June is all about the annual African American Festival, the Federal Hill Jazz & Blues Festival and Baltimore’s iconic HonFest. In July, enjoy dazzling Fourth of July fireworks over the harbor, the city’s annual Pride Festival and Artscape, America’s largest free public arts festival.

For casual fun in July and August, everyone heads out for dinner and a movie at Little Italy’s open-air film festival or a screening beneath the stars at the American Visionary Art Museum’s Flicks on the Hill. Film lovers can also see a movie by the water at the Fell’s Point’s Films on the Pier or catch a flick at the Bromo Tower Arts & Entertainment District’s outdoor film series from June to September. Area chefs highlight culinary delights in August during Restaurant Week, and a handful of cultural festivals bring the city alive with the bright colors, food and entertainment throughout the summer months. In any year, however, you won’t want to miss strolling through the Inner Harbor or stopping in one of our one-of-a-kind attractions or museums.
