Gateway to the Chesapeake
The new Baltimore Visitor Center, located on the Inner Harbor's western
shore, is an official Regional Information Center for the Chesapeake
Bay Gateways Network. The Gateways Network, developed through the
Chesapeake Bay Initiative Act of 1998, is a system of places providing
the chance to enjoy, learn and help conserve the Chesapeake Bay and its
watershed. The program is part of the National Park Service and a
multi-state public-private working group established by the Chesapeake
Bay Program.
