National Tourism Week is an annual salute to the power of tourism – a $9.4 Billion industry for Baltimore that employs 82,000 of our friends, family and neighbors. That’s 7.4% of all Baltimore-area employment. Check out Visit Baltimore's Annual Report to learn more about how tourism drives Baltimore’s economy and quality of life.
Casual for a Cause is Visit Baltimore’s citywide campaign for Tourism Week. Our goal is to raise awareness and funds – starting a dialogue with a cross-section of Baltimoreans about why our City’s tourism industry is important while supporting a good cause in the process.
Here's how it works:
- Individuals and organizations have made donations to dress casual* during Tourism Week. *Employers set their own definition of ‘casual wear’ for one or multiple days of Tourism Week.
- Visit Baltimore provides the buttons, signage and tools to explain why our community is getting Casual for a Cause.
- All proceeds benefit the job and scholarship programs of the Visit Baltimore Education & Training Foundation.
