Throughout his career, Peterson has received various prestigious awards from city and state government organizations and serves as a member on several local committee, foundation and council executive boards. Widely acknowledged for a distinguished career, he was inducted into the Maryland Chamber of Commerce’s Business Hall of Fame and was honored by the creation of a $2.5 million endowed Professorship in his name in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Ron Peterson has built an esteemed career within Baltimore’s healthcare field over several decades. While serving as the 10th President of The Johns Hopkins Hospital – a post which he held until July 2016 – the hospital maintained its record of being ranked the #1 hospital in the country for 22 out of 25 years by U.S. News & World Report. He currently serves as president of the Johns Hopkins Health System and executive vice president of Johns Hopkins Medicine, the umbrella alliance of the health system and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
