A horse racing tradition at Pimlico Race Course
The annual Preakness Stakes is the second leg of the Triple Crown following the Kentucky Derby, taking place the third Saturday in May each year at the historic Pimlico Race Course. Pimlico first opened its doors on October 25, 1870, making it the second oldest racetrack in the nation.
Baltimorean’s take great pride in our horseracing history and we love to celebrate the tradition each year with a week of celebrations leading up to the big day. Indulge in food and drink specials around town and learn how to make the most out of your time at Preakness, whether you’re watching from the grandstand or partying at InfieldFest.
