Baltimore-Area Simon Shopping Centers Announce Big Tax-Free Weekend, Back-to-School Plans

WHAT: Back to School and Do Good with Denim at Arundel Mills
Arundel Mills shoppers are encouraged to donate any denim apparel August 1-31, with the first 200 donors receiving a backpack filled with school supplies. All donations will be given to GreenDrop, benefitting the local American Red Cross, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the National Federation of the Blind and more. Shoppers can donate their denim at Guest Services.
Throughout August, Arundel Mills will also hold weekly gift card giveaways on Fridays, culminating with a grand prize drawing on August 31with $100 Polo, $50 Steve Madden, $50 Sak’s, and $50 Under Armour gift cards. Shoppers can register to win at Guest Services.
August 14-20 marks Maryland’s Tax-Free Week. All shoes and clothes less than $100 are marked as tax-exempt – making it the perfect weekend for families to stock up for back-to-school season.

WHAT: Back to School and Do Good with Denim at Clarksburg Premium Outlets
From August 1-19, shoppers at Clarksburg Premium Outlets can donate new or gently used denim apparel (preferably jeans) and new school supplies in the management office. All donations will be given to Food Justice DMV, with the denim going to local shelters and the school supplies going to Montgomery County school district.
August 14-20 marks Maryland’s Tax-Free Week, when shoppers can enjoy the best tax-free deals.
On August 27 from 3-4 p.m. in the Center Courtyard near Market Hall, TaleWise will present “Pirates Lost at Sea,” a S.T.E.M. educational reading and interactive show.
