Join Linda Murphy Marshall for a meet-and-greet and book signing in celebration of her two memoirs, Immersion: A Linguist’s Memoir and Ivy Lodge: A Memoir of Translation and Discovery! Deeply interested in translation, cultural exchange, and how those practices can alter our vantage points on our upbringings, Marshall’s books offer us important road maps for our own reflective processes. Drop by any time between 5-7 p.m. to talk one-on-one with Linda about her books, have your copies signed, and enjoy a beverage from the pop-up bar from Bird in Hand.

Linda Murphy Marshall is a multi-linguist and writer with a Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages and Literature from St. Louis University, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She also has a Master’s and a BA in Spanish, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is a docent at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Her first memoir was published in 2022 (Ivy Lodge: A Memoir of Translation and Discovery) and her second memoir was published in 2024 (Immersion: A Linguist’s Memoir).
