Highwire Improv at the Lou Costello Room!
Highwire Improv makes a triumphant return to the Lou Costello Room, in the 2nd floor of Zissimos Bar in Hampden! Come join us for monthly laughs on the 3rd Saturday of every month with a rotating cast of the city’s best improv ensembles, as well as frequent regional and national touring guests!
The bar is open all day, and the upstairs comedy room opens at 6:30pm for a 7pm showtime!
This month’s acts include:
Human Magnet is a Washington, D.C. based ensemble that tells a made-up story that inspires a series of increasingly fun, silly, & connected scenes.
The Rorschach Test features a weird guy who screams about social injustice and airline food with a battery of special guests, some of whom arrive.
Malik and Rasheed are a long form improv duo. They create multiple worlds, characters, scenarios based off monologues, and turn it into top tier comedy.
What is an improv show, exactly?
Improv is live theater created spontaneously by the performers with the inspiration of the audience. Unless noted otherwise, it’s a comedy show, made even more exciting, intriguing, and hilarious by the fact that none of it is pre-scripted! At an improv show you’ll see a wide range of creative and fascinating humans perform a highwire act by making comedy out of thin air! It can take many forms, including short competitive games, slice of life scenes, and full length sitcom or movie style performances!
A Highwire Improv show is truly a once in a lifetime performance, never done before and never to be done again!
