LIVE! Building on a Legacy: MLK Jr., Lady Brion, and Black Arts Empowerment

In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, poet and community leader Lady Brion joins Joy Davis, Manager of Adult and Community Programs, to discuss her work as a spoken word artist and her latest endeavor as Executive Director of Baltimore’s Black Arts District. Considering the continued legacy of the work of Dr. King, Lady Brion expands on her work uplifting and advocating for the Black experience through the arts and her activism.

About the Artist: Lady Brion is an international spoken word artist, poetry coach, activist, organizer, and educator based in Baltimore.

This is a virtual event that will stream on the Walters Art Museum’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
