Return to Home
This one-day exhibit visually tells the story of scientist Khateeta Emerson, Baltimore native daughter of Baltimore’s renowned instrumentalist Abu the Flutemaker and her journey from living in New York and returning back home to Baltimore’s Little Italy neighborhood. Each of the featured artists’ varying mediums of animation, sketch and watercolor highlight both the journey home and their special connections to both the scientist and Baltimore. This special pop-up exhibit will highlight how we celebrate and experience community, connection and creativity. This exhibit is curated by Yasmin Perkins and will feature the works of Ashley Milburn, Libby Formant and emerging artists Khalil Campbell and Nyima Campbell. Guests will also be serenaded in the Whimsy courtyard area with a special performance by Abu the Flutemaker and Khalil Campbell.
