The Queen of Soul Encounter was formed in 2021 under the musical direction of Mark Stewart and lead vocalist Lelah Jackson to pay homage to the late great Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. The Amazing Remembering Aretha Franklin Shows starring Lelah Jackson have performed for captivated audiences around the US.
Lelah S. Jackson, a gifted songstress in her own right, started singing as a toddler. Lelah, just wanted to share her gift with the world. At 23 years old, she started singing in a band that would give her an even bigger boost to keep singing, Blac Markit! This band was full of musicians that have played with national recording artists such as Patti Labelle, Jodeci, Tom Brown, and many more. Over these years she has worked with artists such as Wilson Pickett’s Band, Tom Brown, CeCe Peniston, Frank McComb, and a few local and national recording artists. Being with them groomed and shaped her into the vocalist she is today, not discounting her God given gift and gospel background. Gospel is who she truly is. Lelah has a special raspy, old school, gritty tone.
