They Dream in Gold: A Multi-Sensory Book Talk

“They Dream in Gold” is a love story rooted in the sights, sounds, and flavors of the African Diaspora, a cross-continental debut novel from Baltimore native author Mai Sennaar. Join us at The Clifton House on Thursday, October 10, from 6-8 p.m., as we embark on both a literary and auditory journey following the book’s protagonists, Mansour and Bonnie; navigating love, art and the nuances of their complex family structure.

Selections from the text will be read by the author, accompanied by acclaimed Baltimore musician Brandon Woody, and a sampling of cuisines from the cultures and cities highlighted throughout the couple’s journey.

The reading will be followed by a Q&A session with the author Mai Sennaar.
