Baltimore Theatre Project
45 West Preston Street
Baltimore, MD 21201

Air(realist) is a new collaborative aerial creation with Air Dance Bernasconi and Kirsty Little at Baltimore Theatre Project on June 23rd, 24th and 25th at 8pm.   With over 45 years of work between them, both Bernasconi and Little are two seasoned aerialists who dive deep into the heart of their unique lifestyle to pull out the deeper layers of time, space and altered states of mind as they soar over your heads to contemplate the artistry of an Air(realist). These real (and unreal) acts of defying gravity use metaphor, visual projections, and a variety of other feats to enlighten and celebrate human expression.   Jayne Bernasconi is a pioneer of aerial dance and brought this unique dance form to Baltimore in 1999 where she founded Air Dance Bernasconi. She is celebrating 22 years as an aerial dancer/choreographer and penned the book “Aerial Dance” on the history of the movers and shakers in aerial dance. She has been teaching aerial dance at Towson University since 2000. Kirsty Little is from England and presently based in DC. She spent 20 years in the circus arts world which afforded her a wonderful career collaborating with brilliant performers. In 1992 she founded The Wrong Size, a stilts/aerial company and has had a successful run in the entertainment industry worldwide including: Buckingham Palace, Dubia, Japan and beyond.
