The Baltimore Design School will host its second annual Jazz Brunch to support the academic and enrichment needs of its students. The Baltimore Design School is one of a kind, founded to encourage urban youth to discover design pathways and unlock their dreams as designers. The school aims to change local and national demographics of the design professions, therefore increasing the number of African Americans who enter the field. Through its rigorous academic curriculum, The Baltimore Design School is educating a future generation of fashion designers, graphic designers and architects that will see design as a way of life. • Acclaimed visual and performing artist Joyce J. Scott will be honored for her artistic contributions to the Baltimore community and the world. The attendees will also hear stories from the Baltimore Design School community. The Jazz Brunch will be hosted by Dionne Joyner-Weems.
