Overview

For community-based organizations Join the UHI for a capacity-building workshop led by Kristin Mmari, Dr. PH, MA, associate professor in the Department of Population, Family, and Reproductive Health in the Bloomberg School of Public Health. This workshop is designed for community-based organizations interested in developing effective program evaluation skills and is highly participatory. Successful organizations evaluate their programs so they can demonstrate what worked—and fix what didn't. A well-designed evaluation allows organizations to demonstrate the impact of their program in the community, make a case for support, or identify components of a program that need to be changed or eliminated. Participants in the workshop will: • Learn how to understand monitoring and evaluation concepts • Describe programs by using an evaluator’s perspective • Gain knowledge and skills for developing a program logic model • Understand the different types of evaluations • Practice using qualitative methods for evaluations
