Cooks from throughout Maryland will put their best pots of chili forward when they come together for a chili cookoff to raise money for homeless veterans. The Baltimore Station’s 5th annual Stars, Stripes & Chow: Chili Edition, presented by the Baltimore Orioles, will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at South Point in Port Covington. The event will feature a chili cook-off between teams from across Maryland, music by Shore Sounds, an extensive kid’s zone, and tons of good food including unlimited chili samples, a full buffet from Mission BBQ, authentic brick oven pizza from Pizza Di Joey food truck and beer and wine provided by City Limits. Guests are invited to cast their vote for “People’s Choice” and “Best Decorated Booth” and an esteemed panel of judges will crown the “Best Chili” champion. All proceeds will benefit The Baltimore Station, an organization that supports individuals, primarily veterans, dealing with homelessness and substance use disorder by providing residential and community-based therapy programs. Tickets cost $50 for adults; $25 for veterans, active duty and first responders; and guests 18 and under are free.
