Overview

Join us for a 90-minute photo safari: kids only! Aspiring wildlife photographers ages 8-14 will receive an educational Zoo tour, learning the basic skills and special tricks needed to capture stunning shots of animals. All experience levels are welcome as we explore the biodiversity of the animal kingdom through the lens of a camera. This program starts with a brief introduction by a Zoo educator on taking wildlife photos and then moves on-grounds at the Zoo where participants will test their newly honed skills. The workshop will conclude with a photo shoot featuring one of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors. This workshop will be offered four times and each workshop will focus on a different topic. Saturday, July 28th: Scales While the scales of reptiles may be tiny in size, they are big on protection! Practice focusing in on the little details to create the largest visual impact! Equipment: Please bring your own digital camera with memory card, disposable camera, and/or cell phone to use during the workshop. The Zoo will have a few used cameras on hand for people to use on a first-come, first-served basis. Each month we will hold a junior photography contest in which the winning image will be featured on the Zoo’s social media accounts!
