Overview

Just in time for the holiday season--create specially-shaped chocolates and candies or pour one of a kind soaps when you design your own silicone molds! In this hands-on workshop, participants will make silicone block molds using a variety of small objects like blocks and toys. Our Shed staff will teach you mold making best practices while walking you through the process of casting regular silicone and food-safe silicone molds. Regular silicone molds are great for making soaps or for making copies out of plastic, resin, and clay. Food-safe molds can be frozen or baked (up to 400°F) and are perfect for creating novelty chocolates, candies, ice, butter, and more. Cost is $20 per person. There is no member discount for our workshop programs. All supplies and museum admission are included. The workshop is designed for ages 10 and up. Anyone under 16 must participate with an adult, who must also register. Advance registration and payment required.
