Overview

Enjoy Alloy Orchestra's live accompaniment to silent film shorts using an outrageous assemblage of peculiar objects, ranging from found percussion to state-of-the-art electronics. Their famous "rack of junk" allows them to create any sound imaginable as you view silent shorts from 1906–1927. Sounds of Silents is a post-gala event benefiting AVAM's exhibitions and educational programs. AVAM's first floor of the Jim Rouse Visionary Center will be transformed into a special theater where Sounds of Silents ticket holders and AVAM's gala attendees will gather for a unique experience as the world-famous Alloy Orchestra performs live music to 10 short films from its "Wild & Weird" collection. Come early to enjoy music from Classic Collective DJs & DJ Carl Jr, and snacks, beer, and wine in AVAM's Sculpture Barn. Alloy Orchestra's live accompaniment to silent film shorts uses their famous "rack of junk" and electronic synthesizers, allowing them to create any sound imaginable!
