Carol Williams, the distinguished British-born organist who achieved “rock star” status as San Diego Civic Organist and whose performance of Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumblebee” on the organ’s pedals has become a cult favorite, will present a Tiffany Series concert at Brown Memorial Park Avenue Presbyterian Church. She will play the church’s renowned 1931 organ. A live-feed video projected onto a movie screen will enable audience members to see Dr. Williams play both the ranks of keys and also the organ’s foot pedals. Williams plays music with broad appeal, ranging from traditional organ pieces to jazz, the blues, show tunes, marches and popular music, including rock. Tickets are $20 and students are free. The Tiffany Series is named for Brown Memorial’s unparalleled collection of 11 original Tiffany stained glass windows.
