Baltimore is proud to host the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), the largest association of the exhibitions and events industry in the world, this week for IAEE Expo! Expo! 2015. IAEE, a three-city synchronicities booking, will meet in Baltimore December 1-4, 2015; Anaheim, CA, December 6-8, 2016; and San Antonio, TX, November 28-30, 2017.
Expo! Expo!, IAEE's annual meeting and exhibition, provides trade show organizers and meeting planning professionals the opportunity to come face-to-face with decision makers in a unique environment where industry leaders meet with their peers. IAEE is expected to bring 2,500 attendees to Baltimore, who will utilize an estimated 4,155 hotel room nights and contribute an estimated $2 million in economic impact to the city of Baltimore. Not only will the expo benefit the city economically, but attendees are giving back to the community as well through a service project and fundraising event.
Attendees of the show participated in the Gift of Service program yesterday to give back to the local Baltimore community, which was covered on the local news. Approximately 70 volunteers from Expo! Expo! cleaned out the basement at Benjamin Franklin High School, an area that has been in disarray since the building was reopened as a school five years ago. Once the basement is finished, it will be used to store materials for the United Way of Central Maryland Family Center.
In addition to the Gift of Service, Expo! Expo! will also sponsor Humanity Rocks: A Celebration with a Cause. Created in 2009 in collaboration with founding sponsor, Global Experience Specialists, this annual concert event for attendees benefits a local charity in the city where Expo! Expo! is being held. Proceeds from the Humanity Rocks event will benefit the United Way Family Center.
