HOTELS REMINDER: August 1 Deadline for Human Trafficking Prevention Training

Posted on July 21, 2016

Hotel partners, as you will remember the Baltimore City Council passed Council Bill 14-0464 Hotels - Human Trafficking Prevention – Baltimore City Code Article 15 Subtitle 10 last year. The August 1 deadline to complete the human trafficking prevention training is approaching.

If your employees have not completed the training please click here to access the training. Hoteliers should call the number on the landing page where you will be presented will two options:

A. Receive an access code for the online training – valid for 1 year for multiple user access.

B. Set up an administrator account (valid for 1 year) where administrators can register individual accounts via an email address, and run reports.

The webinar-based training program has been developed by the POLARIS Project in partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. Hotels will need to self-certify that the training has been conducted through the hotel license certification.

For any hotel properties that have completed the requisite training, the City is providing you with a sign to be posted in a public place to confirm your accordance with the City Code. That sign will be available online via the Housing Department’s website and can also be downloaded here.

If you have any questions, please contact Allison Burr-Livingstone at [email protected] or 410-659-7054.
