John Frisch was appointed chairman of the Baltimore Convention and Tourism Board, effective July 29, 2014. Frisch has been the chairman and chief executive officer of Miles & Stockbridge since 2003. In addition to being an advocate for the business, hospitality and tourism community, Frisch has served on several boards concerned with the vitality of the region. These include the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, which he chaired from 2008 to 2013, and the Greater Baltimore Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Visitors of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and the Center Club’s Board of Directors.
Frisch replaces Atwood “Woody” Collins III, who stepped down after two years as chair. The executive vice president of M&T Bank Corporation, Collins has been a member of the Baltimore Convention & Tourism Board since 2008.
The Baltimore Convention and Tourism Board is a joint board of directors that provides oversight to both Visit Baltimore and the Baltimore Convention Center and is responsible for creating marketing and sales plans and goals that reflect the missions of both organizations.
