A Successful Casual for a Cause Campaign Draws to a Close

Posted on May 11, 2016

The Visit Baltimore Foundation raised approximately $15,000 through Casual for a Cause, our annual awareness and fundraising campaign for National Tourism Week (May 1-7). All funds raised go to promote and support Baltimore city and the local tourism community through the foundation's scholarship, educational and job programs.

This was a record year for Casual for a Cause in terms of both dollars raised and the number of participating organizations. Visit Baltimore, together with the foundation, would like to thank all of our Tourism Week sponsors and more than a dozen participating member organizations. We would also like to thank everyone who attended the Meet the Candidate forum and Spring Member Networking reception on May 5. Moderated by Adam May, this forum was attended by Baltimore city mayoral candidates Catherine Pugh and Joshua Harris, as well as city council candidates representing the 7th and 9th Districts, Leon Pinkett and John Bullock. The audience was able to ask questions about the candidates' tourism agenda and future plans for the city.
