As you may know, this past summer a State Task Force recommended a post Labor Day school start for Maryland public schools. Visit Baltimore supports this recommendation and agrees that a post Labor Day school start is a good thing for our state's economy and tourism industry.
We will continue to monitor this issue in the upcoming legislative session – but it's not too late to share your voice. Comptroller Franchot is looking for 10,000 citizen signatures to present a petition in support of a post Labor Day school start to members of the Maryland General Assembly in January.
