Conventions Booked in Calendar Year 2015

Baltimore will host a record 29 citywide conventions in 2015, marking a great start to the meetings and convention calendar and building upon a successful year for tourism in 2014 that saw both hotel occupancy and rates reach pre-recession highs. In calendar year 2015, Baltimore will welcome more than 274,000 citywide convention attendees who will utilize more than 217,000 hotel room nights and generate an estimated economic impact of $142 million. The hotel community at large also continues to show signs of post-recession growth.

Visit Baltimore Becomes First Northeast CVB to Achieve New Sustainability Certification

Visit Baltimore, the official sales and marketing organization for Baltimore, has achieved level one certification in the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) Standard pertaining to the Evaluation and Selection of Destinations for Environmentally Sustainable Meetings, Events, Trade Shows, and Conferences (APEX/ASTM). This destination standard is one of nine standards introduced in 2012 by the meetings, conventions, exhibitions and events industry to provide event planners and suppliers with specifications for producing events in a more sustainable manner.
