Last year, our industry came together during National Travel & Tourism Week to raise awareness and funds to help end homelessness in Baltimore. This year, we are challenging our members to get Casual for a Cause to benefit the new Visit Baltimore Education & Training Foundation. The plan is simple:
1. Employers sign up to promote Casual for a Cause button sales among their staff.
2. Employees purchase a Casual for a Cause button for $10, enabling them to wear jeans to work during Tourism Week (Friday, May 8, for hotel staff).
3. All donations benefit the new Visit Baltimore Education & Training Foundation, supporting scholarship programs for future tourism professionals.
Visit Baltimorewill provide the buttons, signage and tools to explain why our community is dressing Casual for a Cause and spread the word about tourism’s impact on Baltimore’s economy and quality of life. Mark your calendars for May 2-10, and stay tuned for the Casual for a Cause call to action.
