Visit Baltimore Summer Marketing Strategy

Visit Baltimore has developed a two-pronged approach to attracting leisure visitors this summer based upon research that identifies travel motivators.

The first is an aggressive promotion of events (including Find Your Park in Baltimore), performances and more through regional print advertising (Washingtonian, Philadelphia magazine, Harrisburg magazine, Susquehanna Style, Philadelphia Gay News and Washington Blade); radio in Philadelphia and D.C., Pandora Radio ads; more event-oriented e-blasts, including O's vs. Yankees and Red Sox; digital advertising; a new weekend events promotion on social media; media relations support; and more. We also will have TV exposure through a generous collaboration with the National Aquarium. While most of our focus is out-of-market, we have launched a partnership with Baltimore magazine to address our metro area.

The second prong focuses on value-oriented deals, working with Travelzoo. We have traditionally been successful with summer promotions through Travelzoo, which provides us with the opportunity to reach millions of subscribers. The promotion will run July through September.
